The
Science Museum at Wroughton Airfield is part of the National Museum
of Science and Industry and houses many of the large objects in the
National Collections, including iconic air transport and an unrivalled
collection of aero engines. The collection began in 1979 when a Douglas
DC-3 and a 1960 De Havilland Comet 4B landed at Wroughton to become
the first of a series of historic aircraft forming the Science Museum's
collection of commercial air transport. Over the summer the collections
are open to the public on special Events Days. |
